#6 More Flickr Fun

My Flickr exercise was interesting to say the least! I followed the instructions and created a Yahoo account, one I'll probably never use as I already have a work and home email account. I thought I would browse Flickr by selecting the Explore option. I've learnt that Flickr is a photo sharing website where people can upload and share their photos online but I wasn't quite prepared to see very friendly images being shared (Pornography images). As interesting as it all was, that was the beginning and the end of Flickr for me. Thank you Christian(Carp diem: fish of the day) for creating a document on linking images from Flickr to your blog. I now know what Flickr is and how it kind of works which is my main goal in learning Library 2.0 - to become more familiar with the changing technology and changing needs of library users.

Yes, I succeeded in creating a blog! Baby steps though... in the immortal words of Scarlett O'Hara, "Tomorrow is another day".

#2 Lifelong Learning

The hardest habit for me will be Habit 2 : Accept responsibility for your own learning and Habit 3 : View problems as challenges. I tend to to get quite impatient if I stumble across a problem which takes too long to resolve (Anything longer than five minutes). I'm also easily distracted, I have a Masters degree in procrastination which makes keeping motivated difficult. The easiest habit will be habit 7 ½ : Play. I'm happy to play but only if I like the toys! My main goal is to become more familiar with the changing technology that library users may ask about. I look forward to learning to use the web 2.0 tools and to adopting the "15 minutes a day" approach to new technology into my day.
